Main Event

Tournament format

Championship and Intermediate flights will be based on a double elimination system where 8 players will qualify for the final rounds (4 from main and 4 from the progressive fighters bracket).

A player losing in the fighters bracket is eliminated from the tournament. The next step is to play the Last Chance.

The final rounds will be played as a normal cup system.

Clock rules
Championship and Intermediate: Preference for main and fighters’ bracket and Obligation for the finals.
Match lengths
Championship
  • Main bracket: All matches are played to 13 points
  • Fighters’ bracket: All matches are played to 9 points
  • Final rounds (quarter, semi and final): All matches are played as best of three 7 point matches
  • Last chance: All matches are played to 5 points
Intermediate
  • Main bracket: All matches are played to 11 points
  • Fighters’ bracket: All matches are played to 7 points
  • Final rounds (quarter, semi and final): All matches are played as best of three 5 point matches
  • Last chance: All matches are played to 5 points

Prize distribution

Championship and Intermediate: All 8 players in the final rounds.

Championship and Intermediate: The winner and runner-up in Last Chance.

Conditions
  • 100% of entry fees returned as prize money.
  • Swedish players have to be a member of the Swedish Backgammon Federation.
  • Swedish players with a rating higer than 1650 are not allowed to enter in the Intermediate flight.
  • Cash in SEK and EUR is the only accepted form of payment.
  • Bring your own board.
  • All indoor areas are non-smoking.
  • Participation in lower category may be refused to players obviously qualified for a higher class.
  • The tournament director reserves the right to refuse any player application and spectator admittance without reason.
